Wyzant provides its platform services solely for the purpose of connecting tutors and students who are seeking tutoring services. Upon accepting the Wyzant Terms of Use when they create an account, tutors agree to abide by our Academic Honesty Policy.
Examples of not abiding by the Academic Honesty Policy include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Writing papers or essays that were intended to be written by the student
- Performing research on a student’s behalf
- Taking a course or class on behalf of a student to which a student was intended to do the work
- Helping or otherwise assisting the student to take a quiz, test, or exam of any kind assigned or required by an educator or the workplace (including practice, take-home, and open-book)
- Actually taking a required or assigned quiz, test, or exam on a student’s behalf which was assigned or required by an educator or the workplace (including practice, take-home, and open-book)
- Completing any assignments or projects assigned or required by an educator or the workplace
- Furnishing answers for study guides that are assigned or required by an educator or the workplace
- Completing any type of data analysis on a student’s behalf
The above all being said, tutors are welcome to help students understand concepts by working through questions the student may have on their homework, study guide, data analysis, or project. This is permissible as long as the tutor is not simply providing the students with answers or completing the work for the student.
Wyzant reserves the right to deny, revoke, or limit access to the platform to students and tutors who do not abide by this policy. If there is ever a question about whether or not a student’s request may violate the Academic Honesty Policy and the Terms of Use, please contact Customer Support.
