What is the Referral Program and how does it work?
When you refer a new student to Wyzant, and that student takes lessons with you, you will receive 100% of your hourly rate. The Platform Fee is not assessed for lessons you submit for a referred student. Please note that the student will still be subject to the normal 9% service fee for these lessons.
You can send your referral link via email, text message, or by posting to your social media pages. You can find your unique referral link on the Invite Students page.
How can I refer my friends and family to Wyzant?
From the website
- Select Wyzant Rewards from the Toolkit drop-down menu on the top navigation bar.
- Click the orange Invite Students button.
- You will have the option to Invite by Email, Share with Your Network, or Invite by Text.
From the iOS app
- Select the gear icon in the upper left corner.
- Select Invite Students Now under the Referral section.
- You have the option on the next screen to copy the link students can use for future reference, or to share it via a text message by selecting Share Invite. You can also select the options to share the link via email, Facebook or Twitter by tapping the respective icons below Share Invite.
From the Android app
- Tap the menu icon in the upper-left corner.
- Tap Invite Students Now toward the bottom of the menu.
- You will have the option to Share Invite on social media, Email Invite, or Copy Invite, which copies the link to your clipboard for later use.
A student I referred to the platform is not listed as a "Referred Student," what can I do?
If you referred a student to the Wyzant platform, are you entitled to 100% of your rate for any charges you submit to that student's account.
You can confirm that a student referral was properly applied by locating the student on your Student Connections page. If there is a green checkmark under the "Referred Student" column this means the referral was properly applied.
You can check the "Pay" column on your Lessons page to verify the lesson charges you submit for the student are properly paid at 100% of your rate.
If you believe a referral was incorrectly applied or if you did not receive the appropriate referral rate or reward, please contact Customer Support.
Can I use the online tool with my students outside of Wyzant?
Yes! Your student will first need to sign up for a free Wyzant account, and we just ask that you submit the lesson on Wyzant as well. You’ll get 100% of the rate you charge them, but please note that they will be charged the standard 9% service fee. Here’s how to get your student signed up:
- Ask the student to sign up for a free Wyzant account on Wyzant.com.
- They will be asked to tell us how they heard of Wyzant and if they say that a tutor referred them, they can submit your email address (the one associated with your Wyzant account) and you will receive the referral credit for that student.
- Schedule the lesson on your Wyzant calendar and indicate that the lesson will be online. The student will then receive an email with a link to the online room, and directions on how to set up for their lesson. They’ll also be able to enter the online lesson directly from their dashboard.
- Once the lesson is complete, submit it directly to Wyzant. As mentioned, you’ll keep 100% of your rate, but your student will be charged the standard 9% service fee.
