How can I customize my tutor search?

You can begin your search with a tutor by subject, and any results will default to tutors with online availability. However, when you're exploring your options for the perfect tutor, you can customize your tutor search with a variety of options. Simply use the filtering options on the left side of your search results page. These filters include:

  • Subject
  • Zip Code
  • Distance
  • Student's Level
  • Hourly Rate
  • Credentials
  • Tutor Age
  • Additional Languages Spoken

Tutors that match your criteria can be sorted according to Best Match, Lowest/Highest Price per hour, Rating, Distance, and Experience.

How do I message a tutor?

If you’ve already found a tutor you’re interested in, you can send them a message by visiting their profile page. You'll need to place billing information on file to continue messaging a tutor after you send your first message.

If you’re just beginning to look for the perfect tutor for your goal, perform a search for the subject you need help with, and Wyzant will instantly present a list of tutors who meet your criteria. You can peruse your options, sort by Best Match, Price, Rating, Distance and Experience, and view any tutor's profile.

From the Wyzant app, just click Request A Lesson and send the details of your request to a tutor.

From Wyzant's desktop site, click the orange Contact button, and let the tutor know how they can help!
